The Stepford Wives of Japan

My wonderful friend, K, sent me a petition on Facebook the other day. Now K isn’t one of these people on FB who does nothing but send out “canned” Facebook apps, so I looked at it long and hard. Also, I hold K in very high regard, so I could be 99.9% sure it wouldn’t be junk or something that would make me roll my eyes in the not-so-nice way I sometimes do.

Nuns Under Fire

As nuns adapt to reach their communities and live outside the reach of the Catholic Church, the Church opens investigations specifically targeting U.S. nuns. Usually visitations are only ordered when something has gone terribly wrong in an arm of the church. For example, a visitation was ordered for seminaries in the aftermath of the priest sexual-abuse scandal.
